Healing the Hive: A Yoga & Mindfulness Retreat in Molokai, HI

Join author, spiritual teacher, and activist Michelle C. Johnson and owner of Castro Valley Yoga, Bridget Galli, for a restorative mindfulness and yoga retreat. Explore how, together, we can heal the hive, the collective, through practice, ceremony, and ritual. This retreat will be an opportunity for us to remember our interconnectedness and come into attunement and alignment with nature to cultivate individual and collective healing.

This retreat will include two sessions a day led by Michelle and Bridget. In each of our daily sessions, we will offer contemplative, mindfulness, and somatic practices, yogic teachings, and practices such as meditation, yoga nidra, pranayama, and self-reflection to move us into a place of deeper connection with the collective.

Retreat Cost Includes:

  • Multiple learning sessions with Bridget and Michelle

  • Time to commune with nature and the elements with others and on our own

  • Halawa Valley Falls Educational Excursion-includes ceremony and hike

  • Tour through the Pu’u biodynamic farm and apiary

  • Lodging for six days and five nights

  • Farm-to-table healthy chef-prepared meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Our Retreat Site

“Pu'u O Hoku” is true to its Hawaiian name — which means “Hill of Stars”— surrounded by more than 14,000 acres of protected land, immersed in the transcendent beauty of forest, sky, and ocean. Learn more about Pu’u O Hoku Ranch.

Why we have chosen to retreat at Pu’u

We understand settler colonialism has affected almost every part of the globe, and Hawaii is no exception. We have reflected on how to offer this retreat in a way that doesn’t extract from the Hawaiian land or culture. We decided to move forward with offering this retreat because Bridget has been to the land before and is in relationship with the family who owns the farm. We understand there is no way to travel to a land that is not our own without having an impact on the land and its people, and we will discuss this during our retreat and invite retreat participants to contemplate how to be in a transformative relationship with land and people versus an extractive one.
